Carmen Angelica is a writer, director, and comedian based in Los Angeles, CA. She graduated from NYU's Tisch School of Film and Television with a BFA. Carmen supports herself working as a comedian and director creating sketches, series, branded content and several short films. Her work can be seen on CollegeHumor, Cracked.com, Reductress, UCBcomedy.com and on the UCB show.
In 2019 Carmen was named a New Faces Creator at Montreal's Just For Laughs Festival. Carmen's recent pilot Bitch From Season 3 was a Top Ten Finalist at Cinequest and made it to Austin Film Festival as a 2nd Rounder in 2018. Additionally, Carmen has been on house teams at UCB performing improv, writing sketch and directing for their Maude teams. She had a successful long running solo show that she wrote and starred in directed by Rebecca Drysdale called Who Am I And What The Hell Am I Doing? Carmen also does stand up around the LA stand up scene.
Her first short film she wrote and starred in directed by Matt Kazman is called Tight Spot is inspired by her solo show and featured as a Staff Pick on Vimeo in 2015. The pilot Snow Country, written by Carmen and fellow writer Emily Schmidt was picked for the finals of the Sundance Episodic Story Lab in 2016. Outside of the festival circuit, Carmen’s work has been featured in Entertainment Weekly, TV Guide, Who HaHa, Comedy Bureau and Huffington Post. Carmen is currently repped at Imagine Artists Management.
